Survival Acres sets $10,000 minimum order

Has anyone taken note of the two blog entries today at Survival Acres?

Food Emergency - $10,000 Minimum Orders

Crashstead Basics

Is prep now truly for the rich and super-rich only? Are most people really walking dead, even those of us who are prepping, but not as far along as we'd like?

What do you think?

Oh jeez. That post had me going. I didn't notice that.

I guess his point is that the day is coming when that post will become real ... and maybe not too far from now if oil hits $200 a barrel. At $200 a barrel, life will begin to change dramatically for most Americans, I'm sure.

It is an interesting thing to contemplate how we'll deal with it when it comes. And it will come.

Bout halfway through it started reading like Orson Welles, war of the worlds radio program. If food shortages became that bad, it would show up in closed fast food joints.

In Zimbabwe a hamburger cost several million dollars, and you do NOT get fries with that.
There is a possible future path where-in one could willingly pay $10,000 IN CASH for a couple #10 cans of food. In such conditions, it might be easier to use, say a small handful of silver dimes, or even a tenth ounce gold eagle instead of a bunch of un-wieldy, bulky paper money.
